Valentine’s Day: Ooni Ogunwusi Blesses New Born Babies With Gifts, Prayers

… Says Children are gift of love from God

As a mark of love, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has blessed with Valentine’s gifts, Some new babies born Tuesday in some tertiary health facilities in Ile-Ife and Osogbo, Osun as well as Ibadan in Oyo State.

The Ooni who was represented by his Queen, Olori Temitope Ogunwusi, the founder of Hope Alive Initiatives visited the Obafemi Awolowo University, Teaching Hospital Complex, Ile-Ife, UniOsun Teaching Hospital, Osogbo as well as University College Hospital, Ibadan to show love to the new born babies who were blessed with the gifts.

Oba Ogunwusi who prayed for both the babies and their mothers assured that the palace will adopt the babies as his children and will continually be keeping in touch with them and see to their growth and progress.

He described the children as gift of love from God urging that the people must reciprocate the gesture by giving them adequate care as a way of appreciating the creator.

According to Oba Ogunwusi, “children are the heritage of God which needs to be celebrated, train them, as well, in the way of the Lord, for they are the future leaders.”

He maintained that “God is love and we should relate that love to children, by giving gifts to them”.

The monarch charged Nigerians to show love to one another by helping neighbours, relatives and other people around.

Reacting to the guesture as unprecedented, the Chief Medical Director, UniOsun Teaching Hospital, Professor Peter Olaitan and also the representative of the CMD of UCH, Doctor Abiodun Adeoye hailed Ooni Ogunwusi and Olori Temitope for their examplary leadership and kind gesture.

They used the opportunity to advise other well meaning Nigerians to take advantage of a day set aside like Valentine to lend helping hands to the needy, saying it will go a long way to change their lives for the better.

Also, The OAUTCH Acting Chief Medical Director Prof. Afolabi Owojuyigbe, commended Ooni Ogunwusi for remembering the children especially on valentine day which symbolises love.

Owojuyigbe noted that Oba Ogunwusi has been paying a pivotal roles to the hospital and humanity at large, emphasising that his efforts over the progress of the hospital cannot be over-emphasised.
