We’ll Protect Osun Assets against abuse, loss with technology – Gov. Adeleke

The Osun State Government is committed to deepening the state-owned fixed and mobile assets using current technologies in a bid to protect state-owned assets.

The State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke gave the assurance in Osogbo at the committee meeting for the implementation and kick-off of the Fixed Assets Management Information System (FAMIS) domiciled.

The governor, who was represented by the Special Adviser on Assets, Mrs. Fausat Sarumi-Adebanjo said capturing all State assets with current technology will reduce abuse, misuse, and stealing of government assets.

According to the State helmsman, the Osun State Assets Management Agency (O-SAMA) will be supported in its collaboration with CounterHouse Consortium, the World Bank and the European Union to strengthen its implementation of Fixed Assets Management Information System in the state in a bid to protect and confirm the total worth of the assets.

Speakers at forum, including Mr. Bolaji Lawal of counterHouMrConsortium, Lagos, Mr. Ogini of the State Integration Financial Management System (SIFMS), Mr. Lai Busari, a chartered accountant and World Bank Consultant of the General Manager Bureau of Public Procurement, Engr. Oyetola Adesina all pointed out that the Fixed Assets Management System project will ensure transparency, generate funds, enhance efficiency governance cost, and attract grants to the state.


The Executive Secretary of the Osun State Assets Management Agency O-SAMA, Mr. Oyesiku Adelu said more than ever, the state needs to automate the state Assets Register and the State Assets Management Plan to protect all assets owned by state and enhance its values.

He called on all ministries, departments , agencies of government and public institutions to cooperate with the agency to give higher value to public facilities.
