WTO DG: President Buhari backs Iweala

President Muhammodu Buhari has pledged his total support for the emergence of the former Minister of Finance, Okonjo Iweala do all that as the Director-General of the World Trade Organization, WTO.

Iweala had emerged one of the last two candidates to be elected as the Director General of the World Trade Organization and President Buhari said the former Minister of Finance deserves it.

The President said he will continue to seek support from world leaders on her behalf.

“We will do all that we can to ensure that Okonjo Iweala emerges as the Director-General of the WTO. She deserves this. I will continue to seek support from world leaders on her behalf. Whatever phone calls need to be made, whatever letters need to be sent, I will do it”, Buhari said.
