30th Anniversary: Orangun, Alahun, Former Principal, honoured As AUD Class of 93/94 Osogbo Celebrates Amidst Fanfare

The premises of ADS grammar school, Osogbo, Osun State was agog on Tuesday as the class of 93/94 celebrated 30th anniversary amids pump and pageantry.

The old students who came from far and near once again had the opportunity to reunite not only with themselves but also with their former teachers who taught them back in the days.

Prominent among the dignitaries at the event are the Orangun of Ila, Oba Abdulwahab Oyedotun; the Alahun of Ilahun-Ijesa, Oba (Dr) Lawrence Ajayi; the Baale of Iludun Community, Osogbo, Chief Afolabi and a host of other former teachers.

The school former Principal, Pa, S. L. Bello led to the occasion, the former teachers particularly, those who taught the old students back in the days.

Welcoming dignitaries to the event, the chairman, class of 93/94, Prince Kayode Babaranti canvassed for a continued bounding among his peers as this would be personally and collectively beneficial, particularly to ADS grammar school, Osogbo in terms of growth and development.

Babaranti commended the 30th anniversary committee chaired by Abass Okandeji for organising a successful, colourful and memorable event for the celebration.

Delivering separate goodwill messages, Chief Afolabi, Mr. Adedokun including the school current principal, urged the old students to remain united in charting the course of the development of the school.

They implored them to continue to be good ambassadors of their alma mata and build a stronger network to assist the school in all ramifications.

The event was climaxed with the investiture of the Orangun of Ila as the Grand Patron and Alahun of Ilahun-Ijesa as the Patron of the class of 93/94, AUD Old Students Association, as well as presentation of award of excellence to the former principal of the school, Pa, S. L. Bello in recognition of his good deeds and contributions to human development.

In their separate acceptance speeches, Oba Oyedotun and Oba Ajayi who appreciated the guesture promised unalloyed support for the association just as the monarchs enjoined them to always reach to them anytime the need arises.

The traditional rulers expressed joy for being able to come together with their former colleagues through the old students to celebrate, noting that they cherished the honour and respect they always receive from old students anywhere they come across them.

Reacting, Pa, Bello thanked God for not regretting to be who he was during his service years and how it payed off for both the then teachers and pupils.

The pupils of ADS grammar school spiced up the event with display of cultural dances and Ewi rendition.
