Gunmen Kill Ex-Oyo Commissioner’s Wife

Wife of a former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters Olayemi Odetomi was killed on Friday by unknown gunmen in the Akobo area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The husband of the deceased, Mr. Peter Odetomi served during the late governor Abiola Ajimobi’s tenure in Oyo State.

The police spokesman, Adewale Osifeso, confirmed that the deceased was killed by armed robbers in her home.

“The deceased, Olayemi Odetomi, aged 66yrs, died on the spot after being shot during a robbery incident which occurred during the early hours of Friday 25th June, 2021 in her home. Updates on Investigations would be provided in due course,” Osifeso said.
