Association of Veteran Journalists Condoles Late Gbadebo Olaitan’s Family
The Chairman Association of Veteran Journalists in Osun state, Mr Kayode Adedire has described the late broadcast journalist and pioneer Chairman of the Association, Elder Gbadebo Olaitan as a dedicated worker and prolific writer who gave his best to the profession.
Mr Adedire expressed these remarks today during a condolence visit to the eldest child of the deceased,Mrs Toyin Adeoye.
Mr Adedire who led members of the veteran pen pushers recalled that the late Gbadebo Olaitan exhibited an uncanny flair for human angle reports, especially on tourism and inter-ethnic relations.
He specifically noted the late journalist’s serial reports, “Travelogues” which captured his frequent trips between Nigeria and Ghana where he made his starts as a journalist.
Mr Adedire is delighted that the deceased left an imperishable legacy as an author whose writings and memoirs reflect the essence of journalism practice which others, particularly budding writers and journalists can learn from.
Meanwhile, the late Elder Gbadebo Olaitan will be laid to rest on the 31st of August in Ede, his home town
