Veteran Journalists Urge Politicians To Eschew Violence

Political actors in Osun state,have been admonished to eschew violence and acrimony which have heightened tension in different parts of the state.

This forms the highlight of a communique issued today at the end of the monthly meeting of Association of Veteran Journalists, Osun state.

The veteran pen pushers noted that spates of cult clashes, armed robberies,and banditry in selected flash points around the state call for concern.

The communique advocates synergy between and among Politicians across party lines as the country hinges towards the 2022 presidential election.

The veteran journalists called for Political advocacy that will strengthen voter participation in the electoral process.

This the communique believes will ensure credibility, fairness and acceptable results of elections.

The veteran journalists also admonished media practitioners to demonstrate professional ethics in the dissemination of news and place the interest of the state above personal interests.
