Twenty youths from Osun State have completed a free training program in adire making, wood carving, and batik designs, organized by Adedapo Art Gallery in Osogbo.
The program aimed to empower youths and promote self-reliance.
Adedapo, a youth and beneficiary of veteran artists, stated that the initiative was driven by his passion to help other youths acquire skills and become self-sufficient, beyond Western education.
He believes the program will help reduce unemployment and poverty among youths.
“This is the third batch of trainees to complete their training free of charge,” Adedapo said, urging youths to abandon illicit social media activities and embrace art-related skills that can provide legitimate incomes.
Trainees received certificates and showcased their work with beneficiaries praising its impact and potential to transform lives.
