The Baba Adinni of Osun State, Alhaji Dr. Abdulfatai Adesina Kolawole, JP, has congratulated Muslims in Osun State, Nigeria, and across the world on the commencement of the Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1448 AH.
In a goodwill message issued to mark the beginning of the new Islamic calendar, Alhaji Kolawole described the occasion as a time for spiritual reflection, renewed faith, and commitment to the teachings of Islam.
He noted that the Hijrah, which commemorates the historic migration of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) from Makkah to Madinah, remains a powerful symbol of faith, sacrifice, perseverance, hope, and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah.
According to him, the lessons of the Hijrah continue to inspire Muslims to embrace righteousness, patience, unity, and selfless service to humanity.
The Baba Adinni urged Muslim faithful to use the occasion to strengthen their relationship with Allah and rededicate themselves to values that promote peace, harmony, and mutual understanding within society.
He further called on Nigerians to pray for the peace, progress, and prosperity of the nation, stressing the need for citizens to work together irrespective of religious, ethnic, or political differences.
“At a time when our nation is confronted with economic and security challenges, we must continue to seek Allah’s guidance and mercy while supporting efforts aimed at building a more peaceful, secure, and prosperous society for all,” he said.
Alhaji Kolawole also emphasized the importance of fostering brotherhood, peaceful coexistence, and compassion among Nigerians, noting that such virtues are essential for national development and social stability.
He prayed for Allah’s continued blessings upon Muslims and all Nigerians, asking God to grant them good health, happiness, and the opportunity to witness many more Islamic New Years.
The revered Islamic leader also prayed for the acceptance of acts of worship and sought Allah’s forgiveness and guidance for all believers.
He concluded by wishing Muslims a happy and rewarding Islamic New Year, expressing hope that Hijrah 1448 AH would usher in greater peace, prosperity, and divine blessings for Nigeria and the world at large.
