We don’t need any other bills to regulate social media – Governor Makinde
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has stated that Nigeria does not need any other bills to regulate the social media.
Makinde was responding in a tweet to what he called a misrepresentation of the position of the Southwest leaders on the purported social media bill.
He said the Southwest leaders recognise the extensive Cybercrime Act, 2015 hence, there is no need for any other bills.
“Contrary to media reports, our position remains that since we already have an extensive Cybercrime Act, 2015 we don’t need any other bills to regulate social media” Makinde said.
