Stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Osun State have reaffirmed Hon. Okandeji Abideen Tunde as the state chairman of the party.
The decision was reached at a stakeholders’ meeting held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, in Osogbo, where members and leaders also confirmed Hon. Adeyemi Akeem as the substantive chairman of the party in Egbedore Local Government Area.
The stakeholders further affirmed Hon. Mrs Olaoye Idowu from Ifedayo Local Government Area as the acting state women leader of the party.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the State Publicity Secretary, Comrade Abdulsalam Abdulkudus, the party said the decisions were taken to provide effective leadership and strengthen its structures across the state.
According to the statement, Hon. Okandeji was unanimously reaffirmed as the authentic state chairman of the ADC in Osun State.
It said the confirmation of Adeyemi followed the defection of the immediate past chairman of the party in Egbedore Local Government Area to the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the recent governorship election.
The stakeholders also appointed Olaoye as acting state women leader following the death of the immediate occupant of the position, Hon. Mrs Gbadeyan Oluwafunmilayo.
The meeting paid tribute to the late women leader for her contributions to the growth of the party in the state.
It also commended the Osogbo Local Government Area chairman, Hon. Muiliyu Lawal, popularly known as Baba Ekun, for his dedication, commitment and contributions to the development of the party.
The State Working Committee and stakeholders congratulated the newly affirmed leaders and called on members to remain united and committed to strengthening the party across the state.
The statement was copied to Hon. Oladapo Wasiu, State Secretary of the ADC in Osun State.
