An Air Peace flight from Lagos to Port Harcourt skidded off the runway after landing at Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, Rivers State, on Sunday morning.

The incident, it was learnt, happened after the flight P47190 landed at the airport while the passengers were safely evacuated.

The airline in an update on the incident said the passengers were disembarked “safely and calmly” without any injury.

Spokesperson of the airline, Osifo-whiskey Efe, in a statement said, “Air Peace confirms that its Flight P47190, operating from Lagos to Port Harcourt this morning, had a runway excursion after landing safely at the Port Harcourt International Airport.

“All passengers disembarked safely and calmly, and no injuries were reported.

“We reassure the flying public of our unflinching commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety in all our operations,” the statement read.
