Approve Appointment of Akinrun-elect – Ikirun Youths Urge Oyetola

Ikirun, the headquarters of Ifelodun local government area of Osun State was agog Friday afternoon as jubilant youths of the town went out on solidarity rally for the Akinrun-elect, Prince Yunusa Olalekan Kadiri.

This is just as they urged the State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola to give express approval of the king-elect and announce to the whole world.

Mixed with some older and younger people of the town, the jubilant youths who first visited the residence of Prince Kadiri moved through Station road, Oke-Iba garage, Oja-oba to other strategic areas of the town.

Speaking on the rationale behind the rally, the Ikirun youths leader, Alhaji Waheed Abolarin said it was a testament to show that, the Akinrun-elect, Prince Yunusa Olalekan Kadiri was acceptable to all, particularly, the youth being one of them.

He said the Akinrun-elect has satisfied all the traditional requirements based on the findings and his eventual election by the Kingmakers.

“As you can see, the youth are happy. Everybody is happy and we cannot wait to have him (Kadiri) on the throne of his four fathers. Out of 21 princes that showed interest, he emerged after the election by the Kingmakers.

“The election was even formality because all the Kingmakers had already made their independent and separate findings according to their belief and faith. Those who consulted ifa Oracle did their own and it was based on this that the Kingmakers voted for him (Kadiri)” Abolarin said.

Also speaking, an indigene of Ikirun, Alhaji Abdulrasak Olanrewaju Badmus appealed to the State government to approve and announce the appointment of the Akinrun-elect without further delay.

He said “what we want is for our Governor, his Excellency, Governor Gboyega Oyetola to expedite action on the approval of Prince Yunusa Olalekan Kadiri who has been duly elected by the Kingmakers.”
