Baba Adini Osun Advocates Quality Education For Young Nigerians

Baba Adini Osun Harps On Quality Education For Young Nigerians
…Urges Muslim Stakeholders to support government policies, program for better Nigeria
Community leaders and Corporate organizations have been admonished to amplify their voices to support government policies in various sectors toward improving access to quality education and welfare of young Nigerians.
This was echoed at the Annual Ramadan lecture and award ceremony organized by the Osun state capter of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union IEDPU in Osogbo, the state capital.
In his remarks, the Baba Adını of Osun and who is an awardee, Alhaji Dr. Abdulfatai Adesina Kolawole, lauded the organiser for the gesture.
He described the honor as a recognition of his efforts in community development and a testament to service delivery, compassion and dedication.
Alhaji Kolawole advocated more inclusive policies, increase in educational funding, knowledge and skills development for the future of generations.
He emphasised the need for government and critical stakholders to invest in education sector to create a peaceful society.
The Islamic leader enjoyed Muslim faithful to always remember the importance of serving humanity quoting form Surah tul Al-Isra (17:70) which underscores the dignity and honour that Allah has placed upon the people and reminding them of collective responsibility to uplift, support, and protect one another.
“Education remains one of the most powerful tools for transforming lives and communities. It enhances well-being, gives people a significant sense of self-worth, amplifies their voice, and increases their relevance in society. It is a well-known fact that education is a vital route out of poverty and a key to unlocking opportunities”.
“However, despite the critical role that education plays, we must recognize that our children today face increasingly difficult challenges. According to available statistics, our youth are being further disadvantaged by the harsh policies affecting the education sector. Many of our public schools lack adequate spaces to accommodate students, which severely limits access, equity, and equality in education”.
“Even more concerning is the issue of school fees. Unlike the free education legacy we inherited from the late sage Chief Obafemi Awolowo, we are now witnessing a growing trend of children dropping out of school due to the inability to pay school fees. This is unacceptable and should be of grave concern to all progressive-minded citizens, especially those who benefited from the free education policies of the past”.
“It is disheartening to hear reports of pupils and students being sent home from public schools for non-payment of school fees. This situation poses a serious threat to our future, as it not only increases the rate of dropouts but also creates distractions that prevent children from reaching their full potential”.
“We must remember that unity, patriotism, and faith are essential tools for overcoming adversity. The love of our country, our states, and our communities is, in itself, a form of worship in Islam. Let us continue to work for the progress of our nation, while staying true to the teachings of our faith”. Abdulfatai said.
