Breaking: Oyetola Announces Upgrade Of Osun State College of Education, Ilesah To University

Governor Gboyega Oyetola has on Thursday announced the upgrade of Osun State College of Education, Ilesah to University.

He made the announcement in Ilesa, during the inauguration of Ijesaland Geriatric Center built by some eminent people of Ijesaland and to be donated to Obafemi Awolowo University, Teaching Hospital.

Oyetola said the government decision to upgrade the college was in response to the yearnings and aspiration of the entire people and particularly, the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran.

He said the government has engaged one of the nation’s best corporate Consultants, KPMG, to work out the sustainability plan of the upgrade.

The governor said “having looked into and examined carefully the request made by prominent sons and daughters of Ijesa Land, and the Owa, our highly-revered Royal Father, His Imperial Majesty, Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, Oba (Dr.) Gabriel Aromolaran, Government has decided to upgrade the Osun College of Education, Ilesa, to a full-fledged University.

“We have also engaged one of the nation’s best corporate Consultants, KPMG, to work out the sustainability plan of the upgrade.”

Responding on behalf of Owa, other traditional rulers and the people of Ijesaland, Asiwaju of Ijesaland, Yinka Fasuyi thanked the governor for aceeding to the aged long request of the entire Ijesa people.

He said the people would always support his administration and his second term ambition as they would be eternally grateful to him.
