Ex-Barcelona President Reportedly Arrested By Catalan Police
The former Barcelona president is a new suspect in the BarcaGate case.
Josep Maria Bartomeu has been arrested by the Catalan police amid the BarcaGate case investigation, as per Cadena SER.
Earlier, it was reported that the police raided the Barcelona offices in search of information about the scandal.
Barca’s former CEO Oscar Grau, Bartomeu’s right-hand man Jaume Masferrer and the former chief officer of judicial affairs at the club Roman Ponti have reportedly been arrested too.
Last year, Bartomeu and his henchmen reportedly hired a PR company to create fake accounts on social media in order to denigrate the images of the club’s legends like Leo Messi, Xavi, Pep Guardiola and Gerard Pique.
