Hundreds Dump PDP, ADP Join APC In Osun
…Allege Governor Adeleke of favourism and nepotism
Hundreds of members of the People Democratic Party, PDP, Alliance Democratic Party and ‘The Osun Progressive’ have formally dumped their parties to joined the All Progressive Congress, APC in Ikire, Osun State.
The defectors alleged the State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke of turning governance to family affairs.
They promised to work tirelessly to ensure APC wins the 2026 Governorship election in the State.
They also commended President Bola Tinubu for his efforts at turning around the economy of the Country.
One of the defectors, Alimi Surajudeen Alade said “When you are in a party and you don’t have sense of belonging but isolated, and the party is doing things only within their friends and families, it is not a party for the masses, I don’t think I can go along with such a party.
“In Osun state, especially in Irewole, only those they see as family are dominating without giving other people the opportunity to have the dividend of democracy, I can not be in such a party.
“Political party is to help the masses and not for a group of people.
In a situation where out of 100, only 2 percent are enjoying, such a government is creating suffering and problems for the masses”
Receiving the defectors into the APC fold, Chairman of the party in the state. Sooko Tajudeen Lawal said members of the opposition are joining the party due to the achievements of and people oriented programmes and policies of Bola Tinubu.
He noted that the ruling All Progressive Congress is the only party capable of turning the nations economy around for good.
“We just started. PDP, ADP, and TOP are joining our party because they know what is happening. They know what Tinubu is doing in Nigeria and they want to participate and be involved. They know what Oyebamiji is doing in this area. They know that APC is the only party that can move Nigeria forward. We are assuring them that they will not regret joining our party,” Lawal said.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Inland Water Authority, Bola Oyebamiji, dislosed that many others would still defect to the APC in the coming days.
He said the move by the defectors showed that the people have realised and appreciated President Bola Tinubu’s efforts to restructure and revamp the nation’s economy.
“People have realised the effort of the president to rejig the economy for the better. We also appreciate our leader, Adegboyega Oyetola, for holding the party.
“Since we left the government, the leadership of Oyetola has been very steadfast. None of our members has ever decamped to any party, and today, we have 120 members of PDP, ADP and TOP that are joining the APC. In the next two or three months, you will see more that are still coming. This shows that 2026 is a business of success for APC” Oyebamiji stated.
He urged the defectors and other members of the party to work as a big family and shun discrimination among party members.
