Injustices: Bane of Nigeria’s Security, Says Islamic Scholar

…as Osun State Muslim Community celebrate Hijrah 1444 A. H in Osogbo

Nigeria’s security challenges and other social maladies are caused by injustices in all facets of life.

An Islamic scholar, Dr. AbsulFatai Makinde made the assertion while delivering a special Hijrah lecture in Osogbo, Osun State.

He emphasised that there must be justice to achieve a society that is peaceful, free of corruption and other social maladies.

“Our leaders should be just, we have observed that what is causing problems in Nigeria is the fact that our leaders are not just in their dealings. If we have justice there will be peace and there would be tranquility in Nigeria” he said.

Governor Gboyega Oyetola who was represented at the event by the Commissioner For Regional Integration And Special Duties, Olalekan Badmus used the occasion to enjoin the people of the State irrespective of their religion, to leave together in peace and harmony.

He congratulated the Muslims on the occasion of Hijrah 1444 AH and wished them many more in peace and tranquility.


In his address, the President, Osun State Muslim Community, OSMC, Alhaji Mustafa Olawuyi dwelled on the lessons of Hijrah saying “these lessons of Hijrah is to continue doing our duties to our Creator and Sustainer, the Almighty Allah and keep good relationship with his creatures. If we do these the world will be peaceful and be an abode of joy for all inhabitants.

“I want to use this occasion to show our gratitude to Almighty Allah for the just concluded peaceful gubernatorial election in the State we thank all stakeholders in the election that contributed to the peace we are enjoying today after election”, he said.

Olawuyi thanked governor Oyetola for providing and aiding Hijrah project and his contribution to ensure the peace in the State.

Highpoint of the event was march past by nursery/primary and secondary, Islamic school students and the presentation of prizes to the winners of each category and their runners up as well as second runners up.
