MY FACILITIES INVASION BEYOND LOOTING BUT PURE CONSPIRACY – ASIWAJU TUNDE BADMUS
The Chairman, TUNS Holdings, Asiwaju Tunde Badmus says, invasion of his company by hoodlums on Saturday 24th of October was beyond looting and ENDSARS Protests but a pure conspiracy.
Chief Badmus was speaking to journalists shortly after a tour of TUNS facilities by the Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola who was on the spot assessment of the damage.
He said the company has reported a case of murder, armed robbery, stealing and destruction to the police.
Apparently disturbed by the extent of the damage, the Asiwaju of Yorubaland said it would be difficult to quantify the loss which include finished products, raw materials and destruction of property.
On the palliative stored at a warehouse in Ede which was looted on Friday, October 23rd, Chief Badmus said the committee on which he was vice Chairman sometimes in August had plan to distribute them but CACOVID in Abuja stopped them to wait for the rest of the major items (rice).
He said the committee was not unmindful of the urgent need to distribute the palliatives to the people but had no authority over them since the donor said it would have to flag it off in Abuja before distribution kicks off in other State of the federation.
Reacting, Governor Oyetola who first commiserated with the family of deceased staff of TUNS Farm who was shot dead during the invasion also empathised with Chief Tunde Badmus on what he described as wanton destruction.
He regretted the turn out of event of what was supposed to be a peaceful demonstration but hijacked by hoodlums leading to loss of lives and property.
The governor’s spot assessment of wanton destruction unleashed on government and private property took him to other places like the campaign office of the Senator representing Osun Central, Dr. Ajibola Bashiru, campaign office of former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Lasun Yusuf.
Others include; Omoluabi Garment Factory, National Silo and some other private residence touched by hoodlums in ilesa.
