Old Students’ Association Donates Borehole To School

Old Students of Baptist Girls High School, Osogbo in collaboration with a Non governmental organization on Tuesday donated a borehole to the school.
The gesture, according to them was in a bid to aid students and teachers’ intake of clean water as well as promote healthy living.
The National President of the Association, 1970 set also known as the Elegant 70 ladies, Prof. Lamide Adedokun said the neeed for the project became necessary since the school establishment in 1956.
She was speaking at the annual programme organized by the Baptist Old Girls Association to commemorate the 2022 International day of the girl child themed “Our time is now—our rights, our future.
On the rights of the girl child, Prof. Adedokun advocated protection of their rights and also their future.
Speaking, the Osun State Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Olufunke Egbemode who is also an old student of the school said the girl child celebration entails building the future of the girl child, developing their esteem and creating a healthy lifestyle.
She noted that the State Government recognizes and respects the rights of the girl child in the society.
