Ooni Appoints Aworeni As New Jagunosini Of Ife
After due diligence and necessary consultations with members of Ooni-in-Council and relevant stakeholders, the Ooni of Ife, Arole Oodua Olofin Adimula, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II has approved the appointment of Otunba Collins Kayode Aworeni as the new Jagunosin of Ife.
According to a release signed by Director, Media & Public Affairs, Ooni’s Palace, Otunba Moses Olafare, the approval was made on Tuesday following the interment on Saturday climaxing the all traditional burial rites for the immediate past Jagunosin, late Highchief Johnson Akindoyin who died last year year at the age of 87.
Born in April 1976 at Ibadan, Oyo state, the Jagunosin designate hails from Jagudu compound in Ile-Ife. He attended INRI Nursery School, Onireke in Ibadan, Central Primary School, Ilare, Ile-Ife, St. John’s Grammar School, Oke-Atan, Ile-Ife and graduated from the Ibadan Polytechnic in 2005 with HND certificate in Mass Communication.
Blessed with a wife and three children, Aworeni is a successful business man runs hotel, hospitality, automobile and agro allied businesses in Ile-Ife, Ibadan, Lagos and Abuja.
Jagunosin, a prominent cabinet member of the Ooni -in-Council and one of the kingmakers of Ile-Ife is among the eight member Obalufe led AGBA-IFE on the right hand side of the Ooni.
