The lawmaker representing Ijesa South federal constituency in the green chambers of the National Assembly, Hon. Lawrence Babatunde Ayeni has said, the people of Ijesaland have resolved to vote for the continuity of Gboyega Oyetola in office as Governor at the July 16th election.

Ayeni, who represents Ilesa East and West, Atakumosa East and West in the House of Representatives, was reacting to the visit of the PDP factional candidate in Osun, Mr. Demola Adeleke to Owa’s palace in Ilesa.

He said “Ijesaland is too sophisticated, educated and well informed to be cajoled, misinformed or misled by an individual without requisite experience, capacity and capability to lead over four million residents and citizens of Osun.”

“Our land have produced great men and women who are very successful in different life endeavours, it is no gain saying that we have produced the highest number of vice chancellors, albeit professors in Nigeria universities, so how will a land filled with such personalities be ambushed.

“Our people are progressive minded and enlightened, and they have resolved to vote for the continuity of the administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola, for him to successfully pilot the state into an industrial state of economic self sufficiency which he has kick started already”.

It is on record that Oyetola has elevated our status in Ilesa to a university land with his proclamation and backed up – actions that have restored the confidence of Ijesa people, both home and abroad, he has been prioritizing the welfare of civil servants and pensioners by prompt payment of salaries despite the paucity of funds, reformed the educational system, improved the health indices of Osun by revitalizing one primary Healthcare centres in each ward of Osun.

“Ijesaland now has the first ever gold refinery plant through the boardroom ingenuity of Oyetola which has provided jobs for our people, the burnt Atakumosa market in Ilesa is wearing a new look, Oyetola deserves a second term to consolidate on all the foundation he has laid, we cannot afford to change a winning, competent, visionary leader like Oyetola.

“Is it not laughable that it took a well informed and highly educated Owa Obokun Adimula and paramount ruler of Ijesaland, Oba. Dr. Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran to lecture and school Adeleke on the procedures and processes involved in actualization of the Ijesaland University pronounced by Governor Oyetola, which he (Adeleke) tends to politicize in the palace.

Ayeni said Ademola’s comments has further shown to the world that the PDP candidate doesn’t have clear understanding of governance and government business.

“We appeal to our people to continue to sensitize our followers on the need for us to return Oyetola as our Governor in the July election,” the Vice Chairman of the House Committee on Police Affairs concluded.
