Osun: Adeleke’s Projects Cosmetic, Misplaced Priorities – ex-Federal Lawmaker
A former member of the House of Representatives Hon. Bade Falade has accused the Governor of Osun State Ademola Adeleke of engaging in misplaced priorities in the choice of projects.
Speaking in Osogbo at a programme of the League of Veteran Journalists Osun State, the former federal lawmaker said instead of embarking on projects that would benefit a great number of people, the government was busy in executing projects that were not really necessary at the moment.
Citing flyovers particularly in Osogbo as not being pressingly needed, Hon. Falade said Adeleke’s government should have concerned itself with roads that have become death traps across the state.
He lamended that while roads like Iwi/Ejigbo, Ejigbo/Ifeodan and Osogbo/Iwo have become deplorably bad, government has peferred cosmetic projects.
The APC chieftain contended that what Adeleke is proudly showcasing as his achievements in two years are very little compared to the allocation his government has collected in the last two years which he said was greater and indeed fatter than what Aregbesola and Oyetola combined collected.
Suggested that until a National electoral body is set up to be conducting Local Government elections in Nigeria, there would be no credible council polls in the country.
On the rift between Aregbe and Oyetola groups, former federal lawmaker said it was good for the APC to give the opposition the picture adding that it would at last be productive to the All Progressives Congress.
He added that at the appropriate time, the APC will unveil the dishonesty and insincerity of the PDP government in Osun State with a view to showing that they didn’t deserve the mandate of the people again in 2026.
Hon. Bade Falade described president Bola Tinubu as a courageous leader who is trying tooth and nail to move Nigeria out of the woods. According to him, the fact that kidnapping and banditry were reducing was a testimony that Tinubu was on the right path.
Speaking on the remunerations of the lawmakers in Nigeria, he said contrary to widely held view, salaries and allowances of members of the National Assembly are not as much as those of their colleagues in other climes particularly America.
He was of the opinion that instead of bothering themselves with the take-home pay of the legislators, Nigerians should concern themselves with the outputs of the lawmakers.
In his welcome address, the chairman of the occasion and a chieftain of the APC, barrister Sunday Ojo Willams, criticised the alleged movement of Ido Osun aerodrome to the Ede the birthplace of Governor Adeleke saying that if all the successive governments including the colonial administration didn’t find Ido Osun unsuitable for the aerodrome, the government of PDP has no justification removing the facility from Ido Osun.
