Osun Assembly confirms Justice Oladejo as Customary Court of Appeal President

The Osun State House of Assembly has confirmed Honourable Justice Akanbi Wasiu Oladejo as President Osun Customary Court of Appeal.
The nominee of Governor Gboyega Oyetola was confirmed at the plenary on Tuesday after a motion moved by the Majority Leader Hon. Maroof Olanrewaju and seconded by the Deputy Speaker Hon. Olufemi Popoola, respectively.
In his remark, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye said that Section 231 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended empowered the State Houses of Assembly to screen and confirm the appointment of a governor’s nominee for any position.
Owoeye noted that the nominee has demonstrated competency, knowledge and capability in his address and has also shown effectiveness and commitment to duties all through his years in service.
In their different remarks, the lawmakers commended the nominee’s uprightness and sacrifices he has made so far for the state.
They encouraged him to restore sanity and make the judiciary in Osun more functional.
The Speaker urged the state governor to proceed with swearing-in of Justice Wasiu Oladejo Akanbi as President of Osun Customary Court of Appeal
