Osun LG Workers Honour Retired Auditor General, Kolapo

It was a reward of good deeds as the former Auditor General for Local Government, pastor Emmanuel Olusegun Kolapo who recently bowed out of service was celebrated by local government workers.

The event was organised by the department of Procurement of Good’s, Works and Services in the local government service of Osun State, under the leadership of Mrs Dorcas Olaniyan to celebrate whom they referred to as the pivotal and forerunner to the creation of procurement departments in the local government and in Osun State government service to entrench due process compliance.

Family, friends, the top echelons in the audit arenas in Osun, including Mr Micheal Taiwo Akinwola, director warditional and speiral Account, Mr Philip Alalade, Director Final Audit, Mr, O.S Tola , Deputy State auditor General as well as the new State Auditor General for Local Government, Alhaji Ishaq Oyetunde Awotunde and other who is who in the civil service of Osun graced the occasion which held at the Osun State local government service commission hall.

The event also featured the comferment of the meritorious service award on the out gone S, A.G.L Pastor Emmanuel Olusegun Kolapo by the national body of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria.

Pastor Kolapo became the first Auditor and the first State Auditor General either serving or retired to have received such an award for outstanding performance as an advocate of due process.

Presenting the award, the Chairman and Register of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management Alhaji S. O Balogun and Alhaji Muhammed Jimoh Aliyu respectively, urged the awardee continue being agent of due process wherever he finds himself.

In her speech tagged, speech of Appreciation to a Conqueror, the Chairperson, Forum of Procurement Director in the local government service, who also doubles as the chairperson Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management in the State, Mrs Dorcas Olaniyan, appreciated Pastor Emmanuel Olusegun Kolapo on behalf of all Procurement Directors and other officers across the state for his contributions to the service of te State.

She congratulated him on soft landing from active service in one of the sensitive office in the administration of any organization, just as she discribe Kolapo as “a man with a divine Grace, who came, saw and conquered”

Reacting, the celebrant appreciated the national body of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management who came from Abuja to physically present him the award and for counting him worthy as the first Auditor in Africa to be given such a magnificent award.

He prayed for the progress and the continuous improvement and functionality of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management and the Procurement department in Osun State local government and State services and across the nation.

Receiving the award alongside his wife, Mrs Olukemi Kolapo, the retired Auditor General dedicated the award to Osun State government, Audit workers and his family in general.

Born in 60 years ago to the family of late Overseer Samuel Olatundun Kolapo and Deaconess Reebeca Adenipekun Kolapo from Ilase Ijesa, Kolapo possesses B.SC in Economics from Obafemi Awolowo University 1988 and Master of Business Administration in 1995 from the same citadel of learning.

He is a fellow of Chartered Institute of Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Fellow Chartered Certified Ferensic Auditor, Fellow Chartered Certified Fraud Investigator and the first Auditor to batch Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria Award of excellence and meritorious service award.

He joined the the government service in June 1999 and retired on the 14th, May 2024 at age of 60 years.
