The chairman, Osun State Handball Association, Hon. Olaniyi Daodu has promised to take Osun State Handball to greater heights by investing in the game.
Hon. Daodu made this known on Saturday during his visit to the Handball team training ground at Osogbo City Stadium.
He said his passion for handball dated back to secondary School days as a handball player.
He disclosed readiness to assist handball players to get to stardom.
“We want people to know that football is not the only money spinning sport that can be invested in. Handball, if properly handled and well funded is an alternative to football”
“I want to assure you, our Handball players that Osun Handball team will always be participating in all handball competitions organized in the country.”
“All we just need from you players is to always be willing and ready to make the state proud by winning laurels for us because to whom much is given, much is expected. I will always make myself available every Saturday to see your trainings and provide you with your basic needs to enjoy the game.” Said Hon. Daodu.
Hon. Daodu also spoke about the upcoming 5-aside handball competition coming up later this month in Osun State.
“We are hosting a 5-aside handball competition in the state later this month. It is going to be a very big event. I have given directive for the renovation and painting of the handball court to commence immediately.” Concluded Hon. Daodu.
Responding on behalf of all handball players, Seun Oyewale thanked Hon. Daodu for hitting the ground running immediately.
He promised that the handball team will deliver and make the state proud.
