‘Prepare Our Entitlements With N18,000 Minimum Wage’ – Pensioners Forum Begs Osun Govt.
The forum of 2011/2012 pensioners in Osun State have appealed to the state government to implement the recent judgement of the Appeal court which went in their favour.
In effect, the forum expect governor Ademola Adeleke to direct the computation of their entitlements to be prepared using the 18,000 naira minimum wage scheme.
In an interview with the chairman of the forum, comrade Ilesanmi Omoniyi expressed confidence in the leadership of governor Adeleke but charged him not to be misguided by those he called enemy of progress.
He blamed the administration of former governor Rauf Aregbesola for the forum’s predicament which led to the legal battle which was just resolved at the appellate court.
Omoniyi decried how Aregbesola’s administration prepared their entitlements with 9,000 naira minimum wage arrangements which led to approaching the industrial court in Akure, Ondo state.
Also speaking, comrade Yemi lawal described the judgement of the Appeal court as God’s intervention and hoped that the government would be responsive and show magnanimity towards their plea.
During their general meeting at the head office of the mother body of the Union, National Union of Pensioners, the group said it recently discovered that some members of the NUP worked against their interests on the case at the industrial Court
They vowed that their interests would be taken care of by themselves rather than allowing the State chapter of the NUP to scuttle their progress.
They equally expressed hope that the case at the industrial Court will end in their favour but still appealing to governor Ademola, whom they described as beneficiary of justice, to support their interests by ensuring that their gratuities and pensions are prepared using the 18,000 minimum wage scheme.
