Road Grading: Residents Hail Ife North LG Caretaker Chair

Residents of Ife North local government area of Osun State have commended the council caretaker chairman, Hon Ayoola Adeyeba for grading roads across the local government, particularly the rural areas.

The council had graded some roads that were in deplorable conditions in AkinIalu, Asipa, Ipetumodu and other community within Origbomeje, Ife North local government area.

In a statement by the head, Social Development and Information Department of the council, Mrs. Bisi Silas, the council chairman assured the rural dwellers in the local government that the council is prioritising provision of good road.

According to the statement, Hon Adeyeba said, opening up of rural areas would make it easier for farmers to transport their agricultural produce to the towns at cheaper cost, adding that the government would do all within its power despite the available megre resources.

He said “many people have been asking me why I am paying special attention to grading of roads in rural areas because we have graded road in AkinIalu, Asipa, and some parts of Ipetumodu Ife North local government. A situation where rural farmers pay high cost for transportation because of bad roads leading to the urban centres or cities to sell their products, it discourages many people from engage in farming.

“Also, Grading of rural roads will help give people living in the areas a sense of belonging, so that they will not think that the local government has abandoned them.”

Adeyeba Ayoola said he was determined and committed to complementing all campaign promises made by the State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola especially, in the area of infrastructural development and others.

He however commeded theCouncil Manager, Egr. Jacob Adeyeye and the head of works department, Engr. Fakeye Olaniyi for their efforts and commitment at ensuring that the council was doing well in providing road infrastructure.

He then urged the people of the communities to reciprocate the gesture by supporting the second term bid of the governor for continuity of such projects

Also, the council Vice Chairman, Hon Ibraheem Olayiwola appealed to the people to be patient with the government as many more promises would be fulfilled in the interest of all.
