Statewide Tour: Ile-ife, Modakeke Stand Still For Oyetola
The city of Ile-Ife and Modakeke on Wednesday stool still as Governor Gboyega Oyetola ‘have you in mind’ tour was moved to the ancient towns.
It was the turn of Ife East, Ife Central Local Government Areas and Modakeke Area Council in the ongoing strategic engagement tours of federal constituencies by the Governor to intimate leaders, members and loyalists of the All Progressives Congress of his second term ambition.
Oyetola’s first port of call was the palace of the Ogunsua of Modakeke where he was received by the traditional ruler and High Chiefs of the town and later after addressing the waiting crowd at Saint Stephen, Modakeke, the palace of Ooni of Ife played host to the Governor and his entourage.
From there, they proceeded to the venue of the meeting with members of the party at Enuwa Square to meet party members from Ife East and Central Local Government Areas.
Speaking at different times at the two palaces, Governor Oyetola assured that all ongoing projects in the areas would be completed and more of them would be embarked on.
In an interview with journalists, the Governor said he’s ready for any mode of primary election adopted by the All Progressives Congress for the February primary election in the State.
He thanked party members in Ile-Ife and Modakeke for giving him a rousing welcome to the ancient towns.
Earlier, the Oluomo of Modakeke, Fatai Kolawole had lauded the Governor for giving them ‘a fair share of dividends of democracy “through infrastructural development and political appointment.
Speaking at the Enuwa Square, Senator Iyiola Omisore expressed conviction that Oyetola would emerge as the party’s flagbearer in the primary election and victory is certain in the July 16 election.
