TCAM Board Constitutes Another LGs Exco Comtt. In Ede, Egbedore

The chairman of Traditional Complimentary and Alternative Medicine board, TCAM, Hon. High Chief Akeem Akanfe Oladebo has constituted another set of executive committee to coordinate the activities of the board in their respective localities.

TCAM is a board recently established by the State government through the ministry of health and the leadership of the board has earlier been inaugurated by governor Ademola Adeleke-led administration.

The board is saddled with the responsibility to oversee the affairs of all practitioners of traditional herbal medicine tagged Traditional Complimentary and Alternative Medicine, TCAM.

Members of the new committee were constituted at the government Secretariat in Abeere, Osogbo and are expected to coordinate other members to comply with the directive of the TCAM board

Constituting the new executive members who are from Ede South, West, East and North, including Egbedore local government areas of the State, Hon. High Chief Oladebo urged the newly constituted executive members to be deligent and cooperate with the board to enable it achieve the mandate given to it by the government.

High Chief Oladebo who had recently constituted executive committee from Isokan local government and other areas, implored the new member to use the privilege to hand down good stories about themselves, saying the assignment is a test and Clarion call to service.

He tasked the committee to promote unity among themselves and other members and to judiciously coordinate the process of administering tickets in their various localities.

TCAM State Secretary, Femi Ojo explained that the TCAM board is the umbrella body of all existing associations of herbal and traditional practitioners, including onisegun, elewe-omo, alaagbo, traditional birth attendants; distributors, sellers, users and dealers of any items involving the use herbal or traditional medicine, etc.

The secretary explained further that it is imperative for all herbal and traditional practitioners to register with TCAM and to obtain TCAM identification card irrespective of any association or group they might have initially registered with.

He informed that any practitioner who fails to register and comply with directives from TCAM before end of next month, June 2024, will have to contend with TCAM taskforce. He also advised members of the newly constituted executive not to use their mandate to victimize one another but to promote unity among members

Dignified traditional practitioners namely baba Fawawo from Ede and baba Abidogun from lragberi were present during the event.

The two commended governor Adeleke-led administration for appointing Hon. Akanfe Akeem Oladebo as the chairman of TCAM, calling on the executive members to cooperate with him and work assiduously for the success of the board.

In his remarks, TCAM Vice chairman, Alhaji Raman Zakariyau urged the new appointees to rise to the occasion to defend their appointment and to promote harmonious peaceful co-existence among members

A Muslim faithful, Dr Ganiya Alli and islamic online preacher popularly known as Alfa Jeje Agba, Abeeb lbrahim admonished the new members to discharge their tasks with the fear of Allah and to prioritize maintenance of clean and hygienic culture in the activities and business environment of all members to promote healthy living in the society.
