UNILESA Gets NUC Approval For 32 Programmes, Commences Academic Activities
The National University Commission, NUC has approved 32 academic programmes for the newly established Ilesa University, Osun State.
According to the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Taiwo Asaolu, the 32 programmes would be offered across five faculties in the university.
Prof Asaolu also disclosed that the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB had listed the university of Ilesa on their portal for prospective students who wish to study in the university for this academic session.
The Vice Chancellor stated these on Tuesday during a press conference held on the campus the university in Ilesa Osun State.
He described the approval as a source of motivation and pointer that the University is starting on a good note.
“This is no mean feat for a new university which, a few months ago, wa struggling to find its feet but now, under the present administration, the Lord has graciously made a way for us where seemed to be no way,” He said.
Prof Asaolu lauded the State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke for the support of the State government in financial the institution.
“Let me say loud and clear, that we would not have recorded anything tangible or substantial if not for the superlative support we constantly receive from the state governor.
“Kindly also permit me to recognise the benevolence of the OYOCO ’87 to the university who only this past Saturday, 2nd September, 2023 donated a toilet complex of 4 units, He added.
Recall that the University of Ilesa was conceived and established by the administration of the immediate past Governor of the State, Gboyega Oyetola in February, 2022 by upgrading the State College of Education, Ilesa.
