Veteran Journalist, Olumide Lawal Turns 71

Olumide Lawal, veteran journalist, public relations consultant and established community leader turns 71 today, January 11th. A man of many parts, who has passed through the rudiments of dynamic realms of professional media practice in diversified ways very successfully is a silent achiever. He has carved a niche for himself, having passed through the professional crucibles and fire of journalism unscatched and untainted.

A glowing personality of no mean repute. A gentleman with many accomplishments, who was a beacon of light to young and aspiring media practioners, offering his wide shoulders for them to succeed.

Olumide Lawal vast experience and service to mankind, made him an accomplished man above board and beyond reproach. Olumide lawal was special adviser, media and public relations to late Senator Isiaka Adeleke as well as chairman, Directorate of information, public relations and think tank under the governor’s office, towards the end of the administration of Governor Isiaka Adeleke in 1993.

Lawal built bridge across the Niger as he was appointed, National Director of Publicity and South West Coordinator of Yarima Presidential Campaign Organisation in 2006. He also served as media consultant to Nigerian Sugar Company Bacita between 1990 and 2000.

Olumide lawal is a proud scion of a foremost and famous LAWAL ADERIBIGBE AJAO DYNASTY OF AILAKA COMPOUND, EDE. He was at the prestigious Adventist Grammar School Ede, Ondo Boy’s High School and Yaba College of Technology before he settled for a career in journalism at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Ibadan between 1978 and 1989, having gloriously made his marks with clean records of achievements.
