You are insensitive: Coalition accuses President Buhari
President Muhammodu Buhari has been accused of being insensitive to the plight of Nigerian masses at this critical stage of adverse effect of covid-19 pandemic.
Leaders of a coalition of civil societies in Osogbo, the Osun State capital stated this during a protest against the increase in fuel pump price and electricity tariff announced on September 1st.
The protesters had gathered as early as 8 o’ clock and moved from the popularly Nelson Mandela freedom Park through Okefia to the popular Olaiya junction in Osogbo.
They rejected hikes in electricity tariff and fuel pump price, saying the Nigerian masses voted the government of All Progressives Congress led by President Buhari for positive change.
Led by the chairman of the coalition comrade Waheed Lawal, human right activist, Comrade Waheed Saka and Comrade Fatai Tijani, the protesters lamented that the hikes will bring more hardship in addition to what the masses are passing through since the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic.
They called on President Muhammad Buhari to always consider the common and do away with obnoxious policies
The coalition however threatened to go back to the streets on a full scale if the government refuses to accede to the call of the ordinary Nigerians by reverting to the old electricity tariff and fuel pump price.
