Osun 2022: I’ve divine guidance to seek re-election, continue my good works’ – Oyetola
Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State on Friday said his reelection bid was informed by devine guidance to continue the work which is in progress in the State.
The governor was speaking during the continuation of campaign rally in Ila-Orangun, Ora-Igbomina and Oke-ila, Osun State.
His port of call in all the towns were the palaces of the traditional rulers who pledged their support for Oyetola’s reelection.
Speaking, the Orangun of Ila, Oba Abdul-Wahab Kayode Oyedotun, acknowledged the performance of the governor within the last three years and the support of the progressive government for the people of Ila, saying it is worthy of note that ‘APC government has broken jinx of impossibility and eliminated curse of retrogression on Ila and the indigenes.
“The great things we have witnessed under the Progressives had never happened before. There’s no doubt in the fact that we have benefitted tremendously from the progressive government over the years.
“It is on record that APC government has broken the jinx of impossibility, eliminated curse of retrogression on Ila and as well placed us in our rightful position. If we are to start mentioning them, we will not leave this place, but the fact remains that this government has been very favourable to us.
“As we can see, it was this government that gave us the Federal University of Health, Nutrition and Medical Sciences that we have been agitating for a long time ago. Today, we are bold to say that Ila-Orangun plays host to the Federal University which was facilitated by the progressive government in the State.
“It is time for us to support Governor Oyetola and vote for him massively to ensure his re-election as a mark of honour to reciprocate his good gestures to our town. I want to urge you all to turn out in large number on the election day and vote for APC under which Governor Oyetola is seeking re-election” Orangun said.
Speaking in his palace, Orangun of Oke-Ila, Oba Adedokun Omoniyi Abolarin assured the Governor of the readiness of his subjects to vote for APC in the town.
“I know you very well. I can write a book on you. You have done creditably well. By the grace of God, you will emerge. We know what you have done,” he said.
In their separate remarks, Asaooni Adimula of Ora Igbomina, Oba Joshua Tinuoye Atolagbe, and Akesin of Ora Igbomina, Oba Samuel Olaoye Idowu, assured the Governor of their readiness to support him and implore their subjects to vote for him in the next governorship election in the State.
