Hundreds of members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Isokan Local Government Area of Osun State on Sunday benefited from the empowerment programme organised by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Water and Environmental Sanitation Agency (RUWESA), Hon Lanre Odelade.
This is just as cash gift was also presented to individuals to support them to cushion the effects the hardship in the country.
Traditional chiefs, religious leaders, party leaders and members drawn from all the 11 wards of Isokan Local Government Area attended the event held at Ikoyi town hall.
Various empowerment materials, health supplements and money were given to the beneficiaries of the empowerment programme.
In his speech, Hon Odelade, said his decision to give back to the society was born out of the desire of Governor Ademola Adeleke to make life more meaningful for the people.
He said he was encouraged by the love Governor Adeleke has for the people and his welfarist programme which have culminated in the development and progress of the state.
He said the seminar organised for the people centered on the health of the people to ensure that the people live healthy life.
His words “the government of Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke places much premium on developing heath care delivery to the people of Osun State. Primary Health Care centres are being renovated and equipped to make them functional with a view to advance their capacity to deliver quality health care.
“This is a departure from the 12 years of neglect by two previous administrations that ruled Osun State from 2010-2022. Provision of potable water in the 322 wards of the state is another bold move by the Adeleke’s administration to tackle water borne disease at the grassroots.
“Today, a seminar and wellness programme with health need packages’ distribution is expected to add to the gains of the state government’s health care programme,” he added.
Beneficiaries of the empowerment programme appreciated the good gesture of Hon Odelade and pledged their loyalty to the PDP led government of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
