The Chairman, Board of Governors, Ansaru-Deen Society Grammar School, Ile-Ife, Alhaji Ademola Lawal has solicited moral and financial support to make the school a pride amongst its contemporaries.

Alhaji Lawal stated this in an exclusive chat with Nigerian Platform in Osogbo on Saturday while exchanging views on the state of Public Secondary Grammar Schools in Osun State.

The State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola had approved the composition of the Board of Governors of the school in December 31, 2020 and had resumed office since January 4, 2021.

Speaking, the board Chairman lamented the spate of dilapidated buildings and other infrastructures in the school and sought to improve on them to further make it more conducive for learning.

He also called on parents, alumni and other well-meaning individuals to join hands in raising the structural and learning standard of the students.

According to him, “Ansaru-Deen Society Grammar School is the only Muslim Secondary School in Ile-Ife, so the welfare and standard of the school must be prioritized in terms of infrastructure and other essential materials to aid conducive atmosphere and efficient learning for our children.

“That is why we are calling on all well-meaning individuals to join hand with us to guarantee a better future for our children”, he said.

The Chairman also called on Ife Ooye Local Council Development Area to quickly look into actions of some people in the neighbourhood, who are fond of throwing faeces into the school premises from the fence.

He said, such acts may result in Cholera and other epidemic for the innocent students.

Alhaji Lawal also raised concerns about records of some miscreants who usually jump over the fence into the school to smoke Indian Hemp and for other unlawful activities.

He maintained that posterity would not forget useful contributions of all the people to safeguard the future of the students, warning that any culprit caught would be made to face the full wrath of law

“This is our alma mata, we cannot fold our arms while the students of the school or the school itself are lagging behind in terms of standard, security and needed infrastructures*, he Lawal said.
