Eid-el-fitr: Let’s Unite To Build Nigeria – Asiwaju Tunde Badmus
The Asiwaju Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta, Dr. Khamis Olatunde-Badmus has urged Nigerians irrespective of faith, ethnic base, or political ideology to eschew acrimony but rather unite in the interest of the peace and progress of Nigeria.
Asiwaju Tunde Badmus made the call in Osogbo ,the Osun State capital, in a statement issued by his media office in commemoration of this year’s Eid-el-kabir celebration.
The business icon said more than ever before, Nigerians have the opportunity to bond together with the sole determination to develop the country as participatory democracy gains firmer roots.
According to him, the cooperation and unity of purpose among members of the family of the father of faith, Prophet Ibrahim, their patience, perseverance, persistence, fidelity, and trust in Allah bequeathed to the world the celebration of eid el kabir.
He added that curiously, the lesson to learn in the story of Prophet Ibrahim is embedded in Nigeria’s motto, which is “Unity and Faith, Peace and Progress ”
Asiwaju Badmus maintained that the nationals of the individual countries of the world determine what they want for their countries, hence Nigerians must strive to develop their country too.
In his words, “the British developed Britain, Americans developed America, the Chinese developed China , therefore, Nigerians must develop Nigeria.”
He called on groups or individuals agitating to break away to give peace a chance as a united Nigeria would give a life more abundant to all her citizens.
Dr Khamis Olatunde-Badmus observed that within a short time of his mounting the saddle, Nigeria’s helmsman, President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, has shown capacity and capability to steer the ship of state to the harbour of excellence.
He congratulated all Muslims on the occasion of Eil el kabir, urging them to emulate the faith, patience, tenacity, and integrity of Prophet Ibrahim.
