The Federal Polytechnic, Ede has announced outright cancellation of the Dual Award programme its hitherto ran in conjunction with M8 Global Know Network Limited.

A release signed the the school Registrar, Alhaji T. Agboola states that the cancellation is sequel to the decision of the Academic Board at a meeting held on 25th November, 2020.

Recalled that there was a reported rowdy session of the Academic Board last week due to what members regarded as highhandedness of the Vice Chancellor who is also the board chairman.

The school rector, Dr. John Adekolawole seemed to have bowed to pressure from the members of Academic Board and the school chapter of Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic to scrap the programme.

The academic board members had requested for cancelling of the whole 2020 academic session of the students under the Dual Programme which the rector objected to.

Members eventually passed a vote of no confidence on the rector, an effort which the rector described as baseless.

Consequent upon this, ASUP held an emergency congress where members resolved that the decision of Academic Board be upheld.
