Four persons have been reported dead with 15 others sustaining varying degrees of injuries in an auto accident along the Ipetu-Owena highway in Osun State.

Daily Mail gathered that the crash happened on Tuesday night with a DAF 95XF truck with registration number GMB344XX crashing into an ash-coloured Toyota HIACE bus with registration number FST925BX.

The accident was said to have been as a result of over-speeding by both drivers.

According to the spokesman of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Osun State Sector Command, Agnes Ogungbemi, the injured passengers have been taken to Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa for treatment while the corpses of the four passengers deposited at the morgue.

Urging road users to adhere to safety rules and regulations, Ogungbemi advised against over-speeding and night traveling, saying, “This is harmattan period; at times, visibility may be zero.

“Drivers ought to apply some level of caution and ensure that their headlamps are in order.”
