Harmony Estate Holds 2022 Thanksgiving

Chairman of the Ifako-Ijaiye Community Development Committee, Pastor Sam Opajobi has charged Lagosians to continue to support all initiatives being executed by their respective CDAs to make their lives better.

Opajobi spoke on Saturday, at the annual Thanksgiving and New Year Prayer ceremony, organised by the Ifako Harmony Estate Residents Association CDA, which held at the Blue Roof quadrangle, in Harmony Estate.

The CDC Chairman who said he is always proud of the estate and urged all residents to continue to support the executives in berthing life changing and remarkable initiatives that would be add to the quality of lives in the estate.

Opajobi who lauded the estate for emerging the fourth overall best CDA in Lagos State two years ago as a result of the development initiatives going on in the estate, said he and his team is ready to support Harmony Estate CDA in ensuring that it wins again this year, during the annual community day.

He said the estate, which is blessed with so many resourceful and notable personalities can no longer hide, as it has become a force to reckon with in the local government.

He commended all residents for supporting the leadership of the estate, even as he charged residents, to continue to throw their weight behind their leaders so that they would continue to make them proud.

He urged the estate to proudly use the name CDA after its name, even as he charged total compliance with the state’s CDA byelaws in the interest of all.

Harmony Estate’s Chairman Engr Isa Egbeyemi in his speech had solicited for the continued support of all residents to enable the realization of the dreams of the founding fathers of the estate. He said, under his leadership, the estate would continue to consolidate on the achievements of his predecessors and ensure that the estate becomes a force to reckon with not only in the local government, but also the state.

On plans for 2022, the Vice Chairman Pastor Babatunde Dada said street lights remain cardinal for the executives this year, as many of the black spots within the estate would be addressed.

He said the executive welcomes initiatives that would continue to lift the estate as a formidable CDA within the local council and the state.

He urged all residents to continue to support all development strides going on in the estate. He urged all residents to remain committed to the prompt payment of their dues and levies, adding that it is these monies that are used to fund the developments going on in the estate.

He rounded off by charging all residents to ensure that they take proper care of their litters and avoid constituting a menace to their neighbours and defacing the estate.

Dada, also reminded that no residents is permitted to touch IKEDC property, in the name of effecting any repair. Pointing out that this is a criminal offence, Dada said, any electrical faults requiring attention should be reported at the IKEDC office and that the estate admin office is open for the executive to take it up, in case of observable delays in the response time by the electricity DisCo.

Residents were led in the prayer sessions by the Chief Imam of the Karaole Central Mosque Alhaji Asisoloriro, who offered the Muslim prayers, while the Area Pastor of the Powerseat Sanctuary Area of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Adewale Solu offered the Christian prayers.

Both men of God harped on the need to always thank God at all times and at all seasons, even as they urged all residents to continue to be responsible citizens of the estate.

The Welfare Secretary Mr Olajide Adeyemo thanked all residents for their financial and material support which culminated into the success of the thanksgiving ceremony.

He said with the overwhelming support enjoyed by the committee this year, residents should look forward to a better event next year.

Among personalities at the event are; Chairman of the CDC, Pastor Sam Opajobi, the CDC Secretary, Alhaji Bilesanmi, CDC Treasurer, Pastor Mike Ilesanmi, former Vice Chairman of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Hon. Kayode Aremo, former Supervisory Councillor for Environment in Ifako-Ijaiye, Hon. Sesi Smith, Elder Albert Adeleke Odunuga, Chairman of Karaole Estate CDA, Chairman of Adeola Estate CDA, Prof. Olumide Adenuga, General Overseer of Bible Pattern Church, and the Superintendent of Neighbourhood Watch for Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government.

Others are members of the Board of Trustees of the estate, led by the Chairman, Elder Timothy Olagunju, Alhaji Bello Adogie, Chief Ekanem Ekanem, Mr Tunde Akinwunmi, and Barrister Sina Agbesusi, members of the Executive Council both former and present, among them former Vice Chairman, Hon. Mike Nmoka, former Chairman African Chirch Wing Alhaji Lateef Animasaun, and former Secretaries of the estate, Mr. Yinka Aderibigbe and Mr Godswill Umunakwe, and other residents of the estate too numerous to mention.
