No Room For An Emperor In Osun APC – APC Chairman, Famodun

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Prince Gboyega Famodu on Tuesday said there is no room for anybody to be an emperor in the party.

He said the only objective of the aggrieved members of the party who formed the group codenamed ‘The Osun Progressives’, TOP is to suppress the party under their sponsor.

Famodun stated this while fielding questions from journalists on whether the party has foreclosed reconciliation with the ‘TOP’ during a press conference addressed at the State Party Secretariat in Osogbo, Osun State.

He said reconciliation could only be achieved when all parties have genuine intentions and not when the other was trying to ruin the structure of the APC in the State especially, some months to governorship election.

He wondered why those who claimed to be members of the party would always engage in different activities to discredit and ruin the image of the party.

In his address, Famodun condemned “the uncouth, ill-mannered, reckless and libelous” statement read to the media by the former Secretary of the party, Rasak Salensile, saying it was due to the rejection of the National headquarters of the party.

“Let me state here now that TOP is nothing more than just a club of rabble rousers, whose main objective is to disrupt the peace of Osun, put the State in bad light and create impression that all is not well with the All Progressives Congress in the State. But the APC National Headquarters saw through their lies and inaugurated Prince Gboyega Famodun as chairman of APC in Osun on Thursday, to their shame and distress, he stated.”

On the allegation of TOP that the State commissioner of police, Olawale Olokode was taking side especially in the attacks of Oranmiyan House, the APC chairman claimed it was because TOP has not been able to control the police the way it has been using the NSCDC.

He said “they (TOP) need to make up their minds whether they are leaders, elders or aiders and abbeters of crimes and criminals. They need to decide whether they want to be part of the progress in Osun and the progressive party, the APC or they want to heat up the the polity and pull down every good thing the party stands for.’
