NPA Empowers Over 350 Osun Residents, Distrubutes Tools
There was enthusiasm among beneficiaries on Saturday, as the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) distributed empowerment tools to not less than 350 residents of Osun State.
Some of the materials distributed were brand new Refrigerators, Deep Freezers, High Power Voltage Generators, Grinding Machines and Sewing Machines.
The beneficiaries were drawn from Ijesa South Federal Constituency covering Ilesa East, IIesa West, Atakumosa West and Atakumosa East local governments; Iwo Federal Constituency covering Iwo, Ayedire, Ola Oluwa local governments and Ife Federal Constituency covering Ife Central, Ife East, Ife South and Ife North local governments.
Representatives of the NPA who presented the materials said, the intention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was to cushion the effect of the economic hardship through the NPA-CSR and make the grassoot people self-dependenent.
Some of the beneficiaries of the empowerment scheme described the gesture of the President and the dedication of the Minister for Marine and Blue Economy, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola as commendable.
Mrs Salawu Aliya said the materials he received was unexpected, saying Osun has never has it so good particularly in the appointment of a Minister like now that Oyetola is representing the state.
According to her, “Now we can see that we have a worthy President and responsible representative in the Nigeria leadership caucus in person of Oyetola.
Also, Mrs Aluko Olubunmi commended the minister for facilitating such huge empowerment scheme to Osun regardless of party affiliation, saying that people of the state now appreciate his kidness and leadership prowess which he has demonstrated so far.
In his own, Akamo Olajide from Ife South appreciated the gesture, saying, the material would go a long way in empowering him economically and put more food on his table.
