Osun 2018: Existential Challenge Awaits Voters

The All Progressives Congress in Osun has alerted people of the state that ‘in 2018, they will be confronted with existential challenge.
‘They will have to choose between continuity of progressive governance or a return to the era of unparalleled failure of political leadership, which the PDP inflicted on the state for seven years’.
According to the APC,  ‘this is a momentous challenge hanging over Osun, like a sword of Damocles’.
The party also emphasized that, ‘The choice has to be right for Osun to keep in the right direction and excellence’.
These assertions were contained in a signed statement by Kunle Oyatomi, the party’s Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy, made available to the media in Osogbo today.
The APC said that ‘the stakes for the future of the state are so high that citizens have to be clear about what was, what is and what the future portends, relative to their choice.
‘It is a stark choice between rotten experience of the PDP era of stagnation, filth, mismanagement and squadermania; and the APC era of monumental development which has uplifted Osun to the status of one of the pace setting states in Nigeria even with the recent index, ranking Osun as the highest human capital development after Lagos in Nigeria, the APC declared.
The party was happy that an engaging debate was already on about this issue with a growing consensus of participants admitting that ‘the PDP is not and can never be a substitute for the APC in the state of Osun’, the Party claimed.
Urging the people to choose continuity, the APC defended its position by giving two contrasting examples for and against that choice.
‘Take the example of a great nation like the United States of America that was challenged by a similar choice as Osun faces today.
‘The Americans thought they needed change and Donald Trump with lies and fake news industry promised Americans change that involved dismantling the signature achievements of former President Barak Obama, exactly what the PDP is wickedly promising the people of Osun right now.
‘Today, Americans hold its breadth at the dangerous edge Trump has taken America and the world, threathening mankind with possible nuclear war. The regret of majority Americans for voting a political jejune into White House is deep’, the APC said.
‘But in contrast to this wrong choice of the Americans, the people  of Lagos State here in Nigeria since 1999 have voted consistently for continuity in governance and the result has been terrific.
‘Lagos today stands head and shoulders above all other states of the Federation with the same political party leadership in charge of governance.
‘Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu began the Lagos miracle in 1999. In 2007, he presented Babatunde Raji Fashola to continue where he stopped. BRT blew the minds of Lagosians; and when Ambode came in 2015, the people of Lagos had already had 16 years of uninterrupted years of continuity of progress; and it continues as you read this..
‘Lagos should be our model. Whatever the circumstance, Osun must vote APC for continuity, the party said.
