The Osun State Council of Obas has hailed the recent appointment of two indigenes of the State by President Bola Tinubu, describing it as laudable and good.
Rising from their monthly Council Of Obas meeting held at the State Secretariat, they described the appointment of Major General Taoreed Lagbaja and Bashir Adeniyi as Chief of Army Staff and Acting Comptroller- General of the Nigerian Custom Service respectively as a blessing to Osun State.
While stressing that the State will forever be grateful, the monarchs congratulated the new appointees and all sons and daughters of the state, they prayed for their success in office.
The royal fathers at the meeting also appealed to the President to create the Federal Ministry of Chieftaincy Affairs with its own Minister, saying it will serve as a bridge between monarchs across the country and the Federal Government.
They added that the Federal Ministry of Chieftaincy Affairs will also afford traditional rulers the opportunity of contributing their quota to national growth and development.
While adding that such Federal Ministry will help look into the welfare and concerns of traditional rulers across the country, the royal fathers also appealed for adequate consideration of the female gender in the yet to be constituted State and Federal cabinet.
