Osun NSCDC Partners NCOS To Tackle Insecurity In Custodial Centres
In line with the directive of Commandant General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni. to work towards having a robust collaboration with other sister agencies in the country, the Commandant of Osun State NSCDC, Sunday Agboola, paid a courtesy visit to the Controller of Nigeria Correctional Service ((NCoS) in Osun State, Tolu Ogunsakin.
This was contained in a release signed by the public relations officer of the command, Kehinde Adeleke and made available to Daily Mail on Thursday.
According to Osun NSCDC boss, Sunday Agboola, the visit was to sustain and renew the existing relationship and to synergise in securing custodial centres across the state.
Agboola stated further that, a strong synergy would bring about an improved security of lives and property in the state noting that the two services are under the same ministry, therefore there is need to complement each other to achieve national security.
The Osun NSCDC boss stressed further that the security challenges bedevilling the nation, including attacks on correctional facilities, can only be surmounted through a collaborative effort of security agencies in the country. He, therefore, assured the Controller of Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) in the state, of the support of Osun NSCDC in order to nip crimes and criminality in the bud. He promised that Osun Command of NSCDC will continue to work with the Correctional Service to ensure there is no jailbreak in the state.
Also speaking, the Controller of Correctional in Osun state, Mr Tolu Ogunsakin said synergy remains the bedrock of achieving maximum security saying ” Nigeria Correctional Centre looks forward to a formidable relationship with NSCDC.”
