Synergize For Communal Progress – Lanre Odelade Urges Ikoyi-osun Youth Leaders

Youths of Ikoyi-Osun Community in Osun State have been charged to unite in purpose and action for the progress and development of Ikoyi and its Environs, irrespective of socio-religious and political differences.

The Asipa of Ikoyi Kingdom and Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Water Environmental and Sanitation Agency-RUWESA, Chief Lanre Odelade gave the charge when he hosted Youth leaders of the community in Osogbo.

Chief Odelade informed the Youth leaders that the policy thrust of the Adeleke Administration is hinged on youth inclusiveness with a view to carrying Nigeria’s future leaders along in the implementation of policies and projects.

According to him “the state government remains committed to tapping the potentials of youth and deploying such to areas of felt needs, particularly in education, vocations and gainful employment.

This is why government is focused on programmes that will make youths, the pivot of National development by swaying them from actions that are inimical to their future…” Odelade added.

He used the visit to inform the Youth leaders of the rebranding of RUWESA to which serious efforts have been committed with the approval of the state government to restore the lost glory of the Agency and bring it in line with the objectives of securing the confidence of its International developing partners.

“I am happy to inform you that the story of neglect and moribund of RUWESA is changing for the better. I inherited an empty account, apart from low staff morale, when I assumed office in June 2023”.

“All these discouraging narratives are being replaced with optimism and zeal to restore “RUWESA to its pre-2010 era”.
Operational vehicles, derelict equipment and offices have been repaired and reactivated while the Agency is being positioned to face the future with hope…”

The Special Adviser described the Youth population in Ikoyi as very dear to his heart and pledged continued commitment to their aspiration, urging them to be in the vanguard of individuals and groups who are prepared to promote the policies and programmes of the Adeleke Administration.

He informed them that all political office holders and political leaders in Osun State have a marching order from government to initiate projects and programmes that will foster closer interactions with their constituents, adding that such leaders are under effective monitoring of government to assess their performances and the level of confidence they enjoy from the people.

The Youth Leaders had in their separate remarks emphasized the need for representatives of government in the council area to domicile opportunities for jobs and empowerment programmes, more among indigenes who reside at home.

They pledged their resolve to support the aspirations of Governor Ademola Adeleke to create a new beginning for Osun State.

The Ikoyi-Osun Youth Leaders on the visitation were, Orolade Ibidola Waliyulah, Azeez Olajide, Comrade Oyelola Ayuba and Oyewole Babatunde Adeyemi.
