Talents Hunt: Olona’s Cup Maiden Edition Receives Royal Blessing

The maiden edition of a grassroot soccer competition tagged “Olona’s Cup” received a boost as the Olona of Ada-land, Oba Dr. Oyetunde Olumuyiwa Ojo gave his royal blessing.

The royal father gave his blessing when the initiator and sponsor of the competitor, Adebayo Olagunju paid a courtesy on him in his Ada palace on Wednesday 25th November 2020.

The team was led by the Director of Adebayo Olagunju Foundation, Mr Sola Ajala.

In the team are the Local Organizing Committee Chairman, Coach Ojesanya T.O and other members of the foundations.

Oba Olumuyiwa Ojo who was ealted to receive the delegations pledged his royal support towards the success of the football tournament.

He advised sons and daughters of Ada-land especially those in the diaspora to emulate Hon. Adebayo Olagunju, an illustrious son based in United Kingdom who is passionate about the progress of town.

The monarch lauded Hon. Olagunju for his immensely contributing in numerous ways toward the development of the town.

He enjoined traditional rulers, chiefs, political officer holders, party leaders, neighbor and the community at large to grace the final event of the Olona’s cup scheduled to hold on the 31st of December 2020 at Commercial Secondary School, Ada in Boripe local government area, Osun State.

The Local Organising Committee, LOC used the opportunity to present a branded jersey of the tournament to the royal father and updated him on the activities lined up for the final match.

The LOC Chairman, Coach Ojesanya T.O thanked the royal father for the warm reception and assured that arrangements for the maiden edition of the Olona’s cup has reached an advanced stage.

He noted that the competition would kick-off on the 26th of December 2020, while the official draws has been scheduled for 15th of December 2020.

Eight teams from Boripe, Ifelodun, and Odo-Otin councils have already registered and confirmed their readiness to be part of this year’s edition of the championship.
