Osun state government has on Thursday commenced handing over of recovered public and private loots to their respective owners.
The owners of the looted property had gone through enumeration, profiling and documentation with the ad-hoc committee set up by the state government on recovery and handing over of looted property.
They came with means of identification and proof of ownership before collecting their items having been made to sign bond with the police in case any other claimants resurface.
Even though some of them said many of their items were yet to be recovered, they commended Governor Gboyega Oyetola for the 72 hour amnesty earlier announced which led to the recovery of some the loots.
They hope that more of the stolen items would be recovered in good time.
In an interview with journalists, the Secretary of the ad-hoc Committee, Samson Owoyokun revealed that the state government had earlier carried out enumeration in collaboration with the police to officially itemise property lost by individuals and government in order to prevent wrongfully claim of ownership.
Owoyokun who said 14 local government areas were involved told journalists that house -to -house search which has commenced in those areas would continue to ensure recovery of more loots.
He disclosed that information about where some loots are kept is readily available and the JTF and Amotekun are already in search of them.
The recovered loots are being displayed in the open at the government house lawn, Oke-fia Osogbo for easy identification by their owners.
